Annamarie Rutledge was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota and recently graduated from the University of Minnesota in May 2017. She double-majored in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior and Journalism (Professional Strategic Communication track) in addition to earning a double-minor in Management and Marine Biology, and completing the University Honors Program. On campus, Annamarie was involved with several student groups including the Marine Biology Club, Alpha Sigma Kappa – Women in Technical Studies, and the student sections of Gopher men’s hockey, football, and basketball. Annamarie was a Science Communication Intern with the BioTechnology Institute from January to May 2017. As an undergraduate, she also worked with the Center for Bioethics, Office for Student Affairs, College of Biological Sciences, Science Museum of Minnesota, and Uber Technologies. Post-graduation, Annamarie works in urban partnership communications for Smith Partners PLLP, a law firm dedicated to sustainable communities. Annamarie hopes to pursue an MS in Conservation Sciences in the fall to follow her dream of combining critical disciplines to solve and communicate Earth’s environmental challenges.
